Two rubber membranes screwed together with aluminium rings form a flexible body. This is connected to a compressor via a hose system and is immersed in a tank filled with black coloured water. When the compressor controlled by a timer is switched on, air is pressed through between the membranes. The body surfaces and becomes established as a floating, lens-shaped structure. When the compressor is switched off, the enclosed air escapes through a valve and the object sinks.
